Some people sleep soundlessly; Some dream in black and white. Me, I have always dreamt in color. My first aspiration was to express my creativity through singing. Though this would not be a life-long goal, it did teach me an important lesson going forward. Never lose your voice.
With my solid background in contract negotiations and business, I had the skills I needed, but more importantly, I had the faith. I found my grace. In 2008, I founded the Beleza Group Agency, an integrated communications firm. But, there was still a need that had to be met. I wanted to serve but on a national platform. While building brands for clients, I began to expand my own. I took on roles such as the National Director of Branding, Marketing, and Communication for Black Women for Obama and Chief Marketing Officer for The Curvy Revolution/Curvy Magazine, an organization and magazine that reach over 250,000 women across the country. By taking on these roles I now reach over 1.5M people on a monthly basis.
Since my passion is people, a mixture of research and creativity allows me to develop innovative branding concepts. I turn events into brand experiences; cultivate products and the people behind the products. While others slumber, I am redefining lives & businesses all across the country. I’m also sitting at the same table too.

Derek Henderson serves as the Chief Financial Strategist of The Beleza Group Agency, LLC. He has over 10 years of financial management experience in both the public and private sectors, specializing in income tax preparation and small business accounting and consulting services. He assists individuals in the accurate preparation of local, state and federal income taxes and ensures that each client receives the maximum tax savings applicable to their specific tax situation. Derek assists small business owners with accounting operations, taxation and accounting systems support needs, tailored to ensure the financial operations of the business is efficient and effective so that the business owner can focus on the vision, mission and goals of their organization.
Derek received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Legal Studies from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and his Masters of Public Administration in Financial Management from Norwich University in Northfields, Vermont.
